QUONSET STUDIOS

Quonset Studios is a 3,600 square foot post-war quonset hut recently renovated with modern HVAC, a new roof, new bathrooms, sealed concrete floors, and lots of insulation! It retains the round ceiling profile, original exterior doors, operable tilt-out windows and charm of a 63+ year-old building. The 19 private art studios range from 127 sf to 213 sf ); a double studio may be available with special arrangements. Nine foot high wooden walls with open ceilings won't leave you feeling boxed in; we also offer enclosed acoustic ceilings for a greater degree of privacy. A number of studios have North- or South-facing windows and are available on a first-come basis. Customized electrical and/or water arrangements may also be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Membership includes 24/7 secure, keyless building access, wi-fi, trash disposal, keyed-entry studio, digital video monitoring, lighted parking lot, common mop sink, restrooms, water fountain, free fresh coffee, and utilities.

Centrally located at 66 Flicker Street near Broad Street, Overton Square, Cooper Young, the Liberty Bowl, Overton Park, Memphis College of Art, CBU, Rhodes College, U of M, and even the expanding Shelby Farms Greenline (which will soon be extended to begin at Flicker Street rather than its current terminus on Tillman Street).

Quonset Studios is specially designed to serve serious artisans, artists, craftsmen, and professionals who need a studio to work apart from their living space.

This is not a living space or storage facility; nor is it intended for loud, noisy trades or projects that create a large quantity of fumes and foul odors.
