Flannery Harper is an artist and community organizer in Memphis, TN. Although she spent much of her childhood in Lima, Peru she still considers Memphis her hometown.
In 2017, she graduated from Bard College with a B.A. in Photography, where she had the opportunity to study under Stephen Shore, An-My Le, Gilles Peress, and Larry Fink. In her work, Flannery is interested in vernacular photography, the invisible world, human history, and our planet’s future. She is interested in intersections: photography and history, photography and drawing, photography and sculpture, sculpture and sound, sound and human rights, etc. She works with found materials and assorted media types.
